Washington State Crime Prevention Association Conference
Dear Members and Friends –
We hope your Summer has been well and that you had great Night Out Against Crime events.
With our annual Crime Prevention Conference just one month away, we wanted to get our draft schedule out to you now so you can see what offerings we have for you. Please see below.
Additionally, we’ve included the conference flyer for you that has the conference and hotel registration information. Please make your conference and room reservations as soon as you can; the hotel is only holding a certain number of rooms for us at this rate.
And if you need additional incentive to come to the conference, take a look at the raffle items we’ve secured. Here’s the thing about the raffle; we are not asking you to buy tickets. We are saying that for every conference workshop evaluation you fill out, you will receive a raffle ticket. In addition to maybe picking up a bag of coffee, a Chick-fil-A gift card, a swag basket from Elysian Brewing, and other items (more to come), you could also win a signed picture of Seattle Storm Guard Jewell Loyd and four tickets to a 2024 Storm home game. Or you could walk away with a Seattle Kraken hockey stick signed by the 2022-2023 team roster. Have we got your attention now?
Please join us! We’d love to see you at our conference.

Dear Members and Friends
40-Hour Basic Crime Prevention Certification Training.
Our thanks to the Richland Police Department for hosting our 40-Hour Basic Crime Prevention certification course June 19-23, 2023. We are so grateful to them for their hospitality. Great participation from agencies from all over Washington State, from Anacortes to Spokane, Mattawa to Federal Way, and all points in between. Please welcome our 21 newly certified Crime Prevention Specialists!
WSCPA Annual Crime Prevention Conference
Our annual Crime Prevention Conference will be held at the Olympia Hotel at Capitol Lake in Olympia Washington, September 19-20, 2023. We have an exciting lineup planned for you and hope that you can join us. For a tentative schedule of offerings, please go here. To find conference registration and hotel information, please go here.
CPTED Certification Class
Because of the overwhelming interest in Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) Certification class we held in Issaquah in March, we are holding a second CPTED Certification Class this calendar year. This class will be hosted by the Everett Police Department, October 17-19, 2023, at their South Precinct (1121 SE Everett Mall Way, Everett, WA 98208). You will find the training announcement and registration link here. As of this writing, there are 15 participants registered for this class. We are capping registration to 30 attendees, so if you are interested in receiving this training, please sign up soon.
Crime Prevention Thursdays
Due to upcoming events (Night Out Against Crime/National Night Out, the Annual Crime Prevention Conference and the upcoming CPTED Certification training) Crime Prevention Thursdays will be on hiatus until November 16, 2023. We would like your feedback as to the subjects we’ve covered to date and would like to hear from you about topics you’d like to have covered. Please feel free to email us directly at info@wscpa.net, or contact us at the conference or the CPTED training.
Thank you, everyone. We appreciate everything you do for our communities.
