Dear Members and Friends –
Happy September! This year has sure flown by, but your Washington State Crime Prevention Association still has more to offer you this year!
Crime Prevention Thursdays –
Our next feature in the ongoing Crime Prevention Thursday series is scheduled for September 17th 2026, at 11am. The topic for this Crime Prevention Thursday will be Cyber Crime, including the various types and prevention measures. Our speaker will be Detective Matt Torok, from the Lynden Police Department, and a member of the U.S. Secret Service Cyber Fraud Task Force. To register for this and future Crime Prevention Thursday sessions, please register here.
Training –
Congratulations to our 23 newly certified Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) practitioners! WSCPA recently provided a CPTED training course hosted by the Vancouver Police Department.
After completing three days of training and a practical exam that allowed participants to apply their newly gained knowledge, we are proud to celebrate all of those who successfully earned their CPTED practitioner certification. Click here for more information about this training and keep an eye on our website for when our next class is scheduled. If your department or agency is interested in hosting a CPTED training, please reach out to us at info@wscpa.net.
Partnership Opportunity –
This month, the WSCPA will be presenting and networking at two conferences across Washington State. On September 24th – a few of your Board of Directors will be presenting at the Washington Association of Code Enforcement Conference. And on September 29th – we will represent the WSCPA at the Washington State Fusion Center Conference. We hope to see some of you at these conferences, and we look forward to expanding our networks.
